How to Play
Bat Out Of Hell uses spatial audio and screen reader announcements to assist visually impaired players. Headphones strongly recommended.
How many points can you collect in this arcade-style driving game before fuel runs out or you wreck your car?
Avoid . They hurt more the faster you're going. If you're feeling daring, you can veer off at the last second to get a 'near miss' bonus that scales with speed.
Collect to keep your tank full.

Bat Outta Hell can be played on a mobile phone with several caveats.
On both iOS and Android, screen readers must be turned off to reach the touch controls
Under Options, there's a checkbox and a set of controls to enable and configure TTS
It may be better to play this game and become familiar with it on PC / Mac first, then turn off the checkboxes for the speech announcements in Options, which will help ducking on iOS
The ducking on iOS when the tts fires and VoiceOver is off is outside the developer's control
The play area is divided into 3 zones. A central area, and two vertical strips on either side of it. The vertical strips are your horn buttons, while the central zone will accept the remainder of the touch controls.
The touch controls / gestures for the central zone are as follows:
Single finger swipe / slide up and down: throttle
Single finger flick left / right: Steering
Two finger single tap: Activate a power-up
Three finger single tap: Pause or unpause the game
Two finger flick up: Announce score
Two finger flick down: Announce speed
Two finger flick left: Announce fuel
Two finger flick right: Announce health
Power-ups
Collect power-ups (up to three at a time) by being in their lane. Press Shift to activate the most recent one. Only one can be active at a time.
absorbs one obstacle hit with no damage or speed loss. Surviving the whole duration of the power-up at an average speed of 50 mph or more grants a points bonus.
Makes you go like a bat out of hell for 20 seconds. You can extend your rocket duration by picking more of them up while the power-up is active. Extensions take effect immediately, you need not activate them manually. Try to collect as many coins as you can to get even more points!
Ever wanted to shoot balls out the front of your car with your horn? Now you can! Anything the ball hits gets destroyed and you get points. Chain them together for an even bigger bonus, but be careful of hitting gas cans.
When an active power-up runs out, a sound plays — a descending sweep will play to let you know.
